At Maine Made & Mailed, every gift is thoughtfully curated with care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Because many of our items are personalized, perishable, or custom-assembled, our return and refund guidelines are designed to ensure fairness while maintaining the quality of our offerings.
1. All Sales Are Final
Due to the nature of our gift boxes—many of which include food items, seasonal goods, artisan-made products, or custom personalization—all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges on completed orders.
That said, your satisfaction is important to us. If there is an issue, please contact us within the window outlined below.
2. Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect:
- Please email us within 24 hours of delivery
- Include your order number and clear photos of the item and packaging.
- Do not discard the box or packaging until we’ve reviewed your claim.
After reviewing the documentation, we may offer one of the following at our discretion:
- Replacement of the damaged item
- A suitable substitute item
- Partial or full store credit
- A refund (rare, case-by-case)
3. Shipping Issues & Delivery
Once packages are marked as delivered by the carrier or signed for at third-party locations, responsibility transfers to the recipient.
We cannot refund or replace items due to:
- Lost or stolen packages after delivery
- Incorrect or incomplete addresses
- Weather-related damage (meltable or temperature-sensitive items) unless upgraded shipping was purchased
If a carrier delay occurs, we will assist where possible, but we cannot issue refunds for delays outside our control.
4. Order Cancellations
Because our gift boxes are assembled promptly after purchase, cancellations may only be requested within 24 hours of placing your order. After that point, cancellations are no longer possible.
5. Local Hand Delivery
If you arranged local hand delivery near the Portland, Maine area:
- Deliveries that cannot be completed due to an incorrect location or lack of access are considered fulfilled.
- A second delivery attempt may be possible for an additional fee.
